Dependency Road Shader with Self-Illumination

This is a custom road shader for modders, that enables self-illumination maps.
You'll need to download it as a prerequisite, to use custom content created with this shader.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Download the patch file and place it in your pak folder. " XLN_Altiris_Shader_Default_Road_v1.0.patch"

This version will overwrite the original game road shader, this will enable some objects that already have self-illumination maps to use them. the tunnels will have lights as well as the tops of the skilift poles, there also may be other road objects in the game making use of self-illumination.

Dependency Shader Pack

DO NOT install this mod in Cities XXL, it is not compatible. an updated DX11 version is now included in the XXL CM, use that instead.
This Pack Contains some new custom shaders, and will be used as a Prerequisite.
None of these new shaders overwrite the originals, and will only effect content created with these shaders.

Installation:
Copy the .Patch file into your games Paks\Mods folder, if required to do so by another mod.
Remove "XLN_Altiris_Shader_Pack_v1.0.patch" first before installing v2.0

Special thanks to Monty for allowing me to include his enhanced building shader and illuminated vehicle shader in this pack, to keep prerequisites down.

Mods Obliterate City - Faster

Note: This is not my file and all credit go to @CorinaMarie. Used with Permission

For those rare times when you chose to Obliterate a city tile, this mod makes a simple change to Exemplar 6534284a-7a4a8458-ca5a576f (Tuning: ObliterateCity) by changing the 0x6a5a6702 Obliterate: SmokeScreenFormationTime property from 10 seconds to 0.1 seconds. It'll still do the other animation sequence, but the overall time will be 9.9 seconds faster.
*;)

Just drop this .dat file somewhere in your Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins.

Mods ParkPays

Note: This is not my file and all credit go to @CorinaMarie used with permission

In the land of Corillion, the council passed a new law which requires the Simizens to maintain all of the vanilla Maxis parks. Its purpose is:

Participation
Agreement
Resolution
Keeps
Play
Area
Yards
Sanitary

So rather than each park being a cost for the city, the upkeep expense is reduced to a negative amount corresponding to the number of cells any given park occupies. So, a Small Park Green has a cost of negative one, a Skateboard Park is minus two, a Large Flower Garden is minus nine, and so on. By reducing the cost to a negative number the overall expenses go down and the city becomes that much more affordable to operate.

(The 3rd picture is showing one of each Maxis park plopped and corresponds to a City Beautification budget of -121.)

Installation:

Copy the ParkPays.dat file into your plugins folder.

Note:

This mod applies to any of the Maxis parks which are plopped after the mod is installed.

If you intend to bulldoze previously plopped parks, be sure to do that before installing this mod.

(Personally, I just leave the old ones in place with their old cost associated to them. With this mod installed clicking an old lot would show the new, negative amount, but the game remembers the old cost in the expenses. Bulldozing an old lot with this mod installed will cause the expenses to subtract the negative number thus increasing it.)

Tutorial How To Install Mods

If you have not used mods for Cities XL before, then this guide is for you.
PS: its the same for XXL http://****/resources/how-to-install-mods.3/styles/default/xenforo/clear.png

Mods are very useful for enhancing the game experience, adding content, cheating and / or fixing something the developers have not put enough thought into.

Installing mods is very easy:
1. Make sure you are not running the game

2. Locate the Cities XL installation directory

When manually installing Cities XL, you are given the option to choose an installation folder. The default location is:
C:\Program Files\Focus Home Interactive\Cities XL (2011 / 2012)\

2.1. If you have changed the installation directory you will need to locate it manually.
a) If you have a Cities XL shortcut on your desktop, you can use it to locate the game's installation directory.

- Right click on the shortcut
- Click on Properties
- Click on the Shortcut tab
- Click on Open File Location / Find Location
b) Alternatively, you can use the search function of the start menu

2.2. For Cities XL purchased through Steam:
a) Locate the Steam installation folder (you can use the steps above). Default location:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\
b) Open:
Steam\steamapps\common\Cities XL (2011 / 2012)\

3. Once inside the Cities XL installation directory, open the Paks folder

4. Create a new folder for installing mods. You can name it Mods or anything you like

5. Download the mods you would like to use and put them in the new folder you created

Note: if a mod is archived (the file name ending in "zip" / "rar" / "7z"), you need to unzip it using appropriate software (like WinRar)

You can now start the game and enjoy the mods you've installed http://****.net/sites/all/modules/smileys/packs/Roving/smile.png
To uninstall any mod, simply remove its files from the Paks folder and any subfolders created. Note that you may not be able to load your city when you have placed a certain mod you did remove.

supplement by Mr.X²:
6. Please make sure to get all required dependencys before you use mods:
Please note that some of these have a different installation procedure; instructions are given on their resource entry

Tutorial How To Upload A Mod To The Steam Workshop

NOTE: This is for cities XXL only.

Howdy all. By now you've probably gotten your grubby little hands on Cities XXL. For those who want to upload your mods to the Steam Workshop here is how you do it.

Step 1: Open the UGCManager located in your Cities XXL folder.
D:\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\Cities XL 2015

Mine is on a different HDD. I made a shortcut to the desktop for ease.

Step 2:

In the box that says Files, click on Add and find your patch file.
To the right of that you will see the files destination. I've added Funky to the end so that all my mods go in it's own folder so you can find them later if you want to delete them.

Step 3:

In the Preview Picture box click on Browse down the bottom and select the picture you want for your icon in Steam.

Step 4:

In the box labelled Description type in what the mod is, LODs or anything else you deem appropriate. I'd also suggest letting people know that in order for the mod to work they need to subscribe to the XXL Community Mod, which is the new version of the UIM.

Step 4:

In the Tags box just type in whatever you want your mod to be associated
with.

Step 5:

Change the visibility to Public so everyone can subscribe to it. You can also change it to Private first to make sure it uploads correctly on Steam before anyone else sees it. You can change this later on.

Step 6:

In the Title box up the top, type the name of your mod.

Step 7:

Click the big Submit button down the bottom and wait for your mod to be uploaded. Then go check it on Steam to see if everything went according to plan.

Here's a picture of the UGC with everything entered.
857

You will also see that your new mod will be listed in the Items box. You can select one of your mods if you want to change anything or update the mod.

Note: This is not my file and all credit go to @portlandexpos04 from simtropolis.com

Real Canadian Superstore is a Canadian hypermarket chain currently operating in 5 Canadian provinces (Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario and Saskatchewan) and the Yukon Territories. It is a subsidiary of Brampton, Ontario-based Loblaw Companies. The stores primarily focus on groceries, but also sell housewares, clothing and electronics, including items from Loblaw's private labels, Presidents Choice and Joe Fresh. Stores also typically include pharmacies and walk-in clinics.
This version is loosely based on the chain's Richmond, British Columbia location. The building sits on a 9x9 lot that can be found in your Landmarks menu. In addition to Real Canadian Superstore, which primarily occupies the building's second floor, this version also includes the following small businesses on the first floor "plaza":
  • The Bubble Tea Shop
  • Blenz Coffee
  • Kingwuu
  • H.K. BBQ Master
  • Rogers Communications retail ****
  • ICBC Claims Centre; and
  • Swiss Chalet.
This is a Beta release that has been tested for bugs but does not currently feature nightlighting. Nightlighting should be available in future updates (hopefully).
